You may apply for a certified copy of a birth or death record by appearing IN PERSON at the Clerk’s office. You must provide proper identification, such as a driver’s license or state issued identification card and complete an Application Form.

Long Form Birth certificates are $34 each.

Death Certificates available back to July 7, 2012 are $26 each.

Original birth and death records are physically in the custody of Louisiana Bureau of Vital Statistics in New Orleans, Louisiana. No hard copy records are on file at the Clerk of Court office. Birth and Death records are confidential and may be obtained only by certain related individuals. Call for more information.
